Custom Glass Work & Repair
Insulated Glass (IG) – (“double glass”)
Insulated or thermal glass units consist of two lites of glass separated by a spacer. The space between the glass is either air or a gas such as argon. The function of “double” glass is primarily to improve insulation by keeping the heat out or in the house, depending on the seasons. It also functions as a sound or noise barrier. Because of many factors such as extreme heat, extreme cold, abnormal pressure build up, damage, deterioration or faulty workmanship, eventually IG units invariably fail. This is seen when moisture enters between the glass (foggy), and usually white sediment fills up the air space.
If this happens to your windows, it’s time to call GLASS DEPOTS USA to replace them. No job is too big or too small. From one to one hundred plus, give us a call. For your home or business, big or small, we are a phone call away.

Acrylic and polycarbonate sheets are the two main alternatives to glass in glazing applications. Each has its own pros and cons, and different recommended usage. In architectural applications, they are generally available in thickness from 1/8″ to 1″ or more.
Acrylic sheets, often called by trade name “plexi” or “Plexiglas”, is used where safety, handling and workability (bending, cutting drilling!) is desired, and price is important.
Polycarbonate sheets, recognized by trade names such as “Lexan” or “hyzod”, is more expensive than acrylic. 250 times stronger than glass of the same thickness, and 30 times stronger than acrylic sheet, it too, has its pros and cons. Both plastics are much less resistant to scratching, certain chemicals and deterioration than glass, but being lighter and stronger than glass, they are often used where safety and security are desired and other drawbacks less important. Call Glass Depots USA for your acrylic and polycarbonate questions and requirements.
Acrylic mirror are available as an alternative to glass mirrors where safety is a concern, and price and “scratchability” not the major factors in the decision.
Security laminates are a cost-effective solution that will maximize protection of your home or business. The security laminate is a clear, micro-thin film and resists the force of small firearms, extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes, and high impact projectiles. The laminate is applied to new or existing applications such as government buildings, healthcare facilities, offices, retail spaces, homes and businesses.
